Canteen Outreach

A few months prior to this release, a reporter reached out at the last minute for a story regarding homelessness and dropping temperatures. My willingness to “drop everything” to work with her and help meet her deadline, gave me the chance to pitch another idea regarding our homeless outreach. This release was sent in advance of a passion project of  Jon Sosa, one of the Salvation Army's officers, where a food truck was used to deliver food and assistance to those in need. It prompted that reporter to connect with me once again, when she asked to come and interview Envoy Soza in the future. We were able to have her ride along with him during a multi-agency homeless sweep resulting in increased visibility for the organization.
